Well, that didn’t take long!
It took only a few plays for Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix to connect with wide receiver Jaylen Waddle on the first offensive drive of Denver’s second preseason game against the Green Bay Packers on Friday night. The pitch and catch went for 35 yards, the longest play of the day for either team.
It also served as the first memorable on-field moment for Waddle, who made his on-field debut in orange in blue. Waddle’s acquisition was arguably the biggest splash the Broncos made in the offseason, and it was great to see that move begin to produce fruit.
Here is a small sampling of how Broncos Twitter reacted to Waddle’s “Welcome to Denver” moment.
The Broncos and their fans are hoping this catch and run is the first of many between Nix and Waddle in 2026, and a huge aspect in unlocking the true potential of this offense.
